Great food...great atmosphere. Be sure to arrive early if you're going in peak season, the swarms of folks coming out to dinner after a long day at the beach will make your wait time a long one if you don't. Definitely have the duck and andouille sausage gumbo, cheese dip with pita chips and take a slice of the peanut butter pie to go if you don't have room after dinner. The $5 upcharge to add hot or cold blue crab to any salad is completely worth it. Bon appetite!

As a local, Cosmo's always one of our favorites. But over the summer, management not responsive to customers. The $14 Linguine Alfredo dinner entree is child portion size and when ordering Red Fish for lunch entree (which used to be on lunch menu) was charged $28 dinner price. When made a couple efforts to communicate issues above, no response from management. Feel as though they figure they can get away with because of tourist season.

Someone recommended Cosmos and I am really glad we went. The service was great and the food is delicious. We both had pecan crusted redfish with risotto and asparagus. As an appetizer we had calamari which was very tender and not breaded a lot so you could taste it. We ate inside but they had music on the patio and have a wine shop and really cool gift shop with lots of local artists items and if you are a dog lover you will love this store. Tons of things geared to dogs and some cat items. Can't wait to go back.

Great, casual atmosphere. A lot of room and laid back. Food is great. Any restaurant in OBA is touristy, however, this one pulls off a local feel.

I had heard from several people we had to try out this restaurant while vacationing in OBA and I'm glad we did! We had tried to go one night but the wait was up to two hours when we arrived at 6:30. The next night we got there at 5:30 and the wait for inside was 40 minutes and immediate outside. We sat inside but I highly recommend sitting outdoors. They had live music that was great and the atmosphere is super laid back. They sat our party of 7 plus a baby comfortably and our waitress (forgot her name) was super friendly and helpful! 5 of us asked for a grouper sandwich which wasn't on the menu and the chef gladly made it for us. It was SO good! Overall this was our favorite place we ate while in OBA, definitely worth the wait! Also there's an outdoor appetizer menu that I strongly recommend ordering from if you're waiting. The cheese dip and calamari were great!

Great food, awesome service, GET HERE EARLY!!! I had the stuffed grouper and my husband had the fresh triggerfish with blue crab meat. Excellent choices recommended by our waitress. Very knowledgable and friendly. My husband enjoyed solid craft beer selections from Good People Brewing, Terrapin Brewery and SweetWater. Good drink specials. Highly recommend the overall atmosphere, we will be back!

The place was super cool with amazing outside seating. We didn't end up eating here because we were wanting seafood and I thought that's what they offered but they suggested their other restaurant called Cobalt so we drive there and while the place is very nice and sits alongside the bay, id have rather eaten here at cosmos because Cobalt seemed too stuffy and stuck up. I can't tell you about the food but I can tell you the people were very friendly and the seating was beautifully lit and comfortably laid back

I'm giving a five and I normally do not. I enjoyed the menu selection and the choices that were on the special. We started with the crab cakes which had lots of crab meat. I had the banana leaf wrapped Chilean Seabass and the wife had the pecan crusted reddish. Both were outstanding. Our waiter was also outstanding attentive to every need and question. Capped off a great way to end the day at the beach. I would recommend getting there early since the place gets crowded really quickly. We arrived around 4:45 and there was a wait for larger groups.

Probably one of my favorite places in the area. The Pecan Redfish is outstanding. Service was good, and a large alcohol menu. We timed it right and did not have a wait, but apparently it's luck of the draw. We will be back!

BBQ crab claws were the best thing we had! We could have ate those for our entree. Also had the salmon salad, pecan crusted redfish, and the scallop/eggplant special. It was delicious. The best meal we had in orange beach. Dining environment is pretty good as well. Waiter was very nice and knowledgeable.

On vacation with my boyfriend for the first time together and relying on yelp to find good places to eat. We wanted seafood and we came across Cosmos. WOW! Every single dish we had was made exquisitely, the spices were perfectly paired with the dishes and they had foods we would never find back home. (Chicago) I would recommend this place for foodies and people wanting to trying some new but amazing foods.

Absolutely awesome. 12 stars. Hardly any wait, great ambiance, awesome live music, service was spectacular. Every bit of food was DELICIOUS from the appetizer to the entree, even the dinner salad was tasty. This is the best place I've had food in orange beach or gulf shores! Will be coming back again ..and again...and again!

Food was excellent. I had fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. It would melt in your mouth. And so much I could not eat it all. My boyfriend had one of their specials filet/ fried crab legs on asparagus. He let me sample. And oh it was to die for. I will for sure recommend this place and will come back next year. Oh and the servers were very courtesy!!

What a fantastic place. I begged only one thing during my vacation and it was to have good seafood locally when on our vacation (with my family). Locals we knew suggested this and Ships Harbor. We went to Cosmos for lunch and loved it so much, we went back that evening with a very large group. Service was great both times and the wait stunk, but worth it. We had the Mahi Mahi sandwich, Firecracker Shrimp, crab cakes, redfish, and loved it all. Even the hamburgers were good with my kids. Cold beer, and great company. I got my fix for seafood and had a blast. Would highly recommend. Pricing compared to other places was on target and even better food. We visited Bahama Bob's after a good experience in 2006 and this year, we were disappointed sad to say. Will be writing a review about it too. Save the time, get there early and enjoy the time here. Great stuff.

Cool atmosphere / people here and good food! First impression in the middle of hot summer was... "YES! parking in the shade!!!" (A number of the parking spots are shaded by the trees around this place - a nice bonus). We came into the building, and there's dog art all over the place, giving it a fun, laid back feel. As for the foods, we had shrimp/sausage pasta, risotto, and burger - The burger was nicely flavored and tasty. It was certainly cooked to medium-well, but despite this, it wasn't dried out - so no complaints there. The risotto was nice - it was quite cheesy in flavor, tasted like what you'd expect from your standard Italian type of place, a pleasant surprise. The shrimp/sausage pasta was good, sauce was not creamy - so it has the appearance of a nice light dish. Sausage was tasty and flavorful. The service was good - good people. Funny thing about that - From the pics on yelp, I was wondering if there was a beach volleyball course hidden somewhere in Cosmos. When I came in- I didn't see one, but the staff all had the build of a volleyball team, which was fun - made us wonder where their hidden volleyball court was kept. All in all, a fun experience and good place.

There are very few meals where everything is perfect from appetizer to dessert - but this was one of them! The atmosphere was great, we ate in the bar which was painted a vibrant red with lots of fun dog art. Our waiter was very attentive, but not overly so as to be annoying. They quoted us 35-40 minutes but sat us in 5, probably because we agreed to eat in the bar area and only had a party of 4. Our appetizer of firecracker shrimp was great with just enough heat. The salad was great due to the homemade dressing. The crab cakes were perfectly cooked and had lots of fresh crab. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was delicious (and included a side item, was fresh, and cost less than we paid at a couple other awful restaurants like the hangout). Finally...dessert! To. Die. For. Banana Fritters. OMG! Fried bananas rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with vanilla bean ice cream. My girls got the white chocolate brownie and I managed to steal a bite before they inhaled it and it was delicious! This is a must-visit when you are in Orange Beach. We will be back...multiple times...on our next trip.

Awesome place, great atmosphere, excellent service! Staff very knowledgable about food and drink menus, very personable.. The Firecracker Shrimp are solid and the fresh catch specials were just as good as advertised. We had the blackened grouper and the pecan crusted triggerfish topped with blue crab meat. Good beer selection, several craft selections. Just make sure you get here early as Cosmo's is very popular.

Waitress was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. The food was excellent. We ordered the crab cakes appetizer and highly recommend them. Two people had the Fried Shrimp and said the dish was the best they had eaten in the area. I had the Pork Tenderloin served with Gingered Greens and Sweet Potato Cakes. OMG! Delish!!!!! The meals were served with bread with homemade herb butter and choice of house or Caesar salads. The Caesar dressing had a zesty twist as did the honey mustard for the house salad. To finish, we all tried a piece of the Peanut Butter Pie. It was a whipped, fluffy sweet-n-salty delight! Ahhh!!!! One drawback is the loud atmosphere. Might have been because this is Spring Break time with lots of large groups.

Hands down the best restaurant we've eaten at in Orange Beach. There was an hour wait but we got a seat at the bar (full menu served) right away. Allison at the bar was great. We had the bbq crab legs and the banana leaf sea bass, which was featured on the Food Network. Both were pretty fantastic. We had some sushi, which i did not expect to be that great but it was super yummy. Dessert was great, peanut butter pie. And my mango daquiri was yummy and potent! Loved it.

Excellent place- the Crab Claws are fantastic- drenched in a rich, buttery & flavorful sauce. Although we had to sit at the bar because this place seems to be packed for dinner all the time; Brian the bartender had great suggestions, good company and of course the wine was poured for us! Banana Leaf Seabass- the JAM! And the redfish was a winner as well, again rich and not for bikinis, but don't let it stop you!

Eaten here a few times. Nothing special, but the food is good. I wasn't impressed w/ the banana leaf wrapped sea bass but my friends had it also and loved it. Not much of a draft beer selection, but the food menu has quite the variety with a wide range of prices.

This is our MUST GO place in the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area. Southern hospitality at its finest. A favorite memory is seeing BB lick her plate clean the first time we came. I may find a picture so you can enjoy the moment too. Don't be in a hurry, Cosmos has that laid back beach vibe with GREAT food, fresh seafood, and a relaxing atmosphere. It's a nice place so people tend to dress up, but most still wear sandals and several folks always fit in just fine in a clean tshirt. When we go, we plan to enjoy Bushwhackers (local ice cream & rum chocolatey drink) and live music on the patio while we're waiting for a table. They don't take reservations, so come earlier than you plan to eat. We've enjoyed several meals here over the years, and we've never gone wrong especially with the server's recommendations. When the Royal Reds are available, they are a shrimp delicacy and you should definitely try these deep water shrimp if you like seafood at all. If I lived here I'd prolly have to try to get a job tending bar, bussing tables, or something so I could afford to eat here as often as I'd like. :D The only complaint we've had is that the fans on the patio blow at the force of a Rolls Royce jet engine. It can ruin a hairdo, chill your food, and make you miserable. Others have commented on this too. They're great in the heat of the day, but too too much once the sun goes down. After the server told us they "can't be turned off" (don't get me started), the hostesses accommodated us by moving us inside, so we were tickled with the upgrade. THEN they turned the fans off after four more tables asked to move. The friends insisted this means that Cosmo's can't get 5 stars. Importantly, they do have Basil Hayden and Woodford. Special mention for the eco-friendly takeout containers.

I was not very impressed with Cosmo's. We got there at 4:45pm and the wait was an hour. We waited at the bar and after the hour we were seated. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was alright...tasted like every other fried calamari I have had. My boyfriend ordered the tuna steak rare and he said it was just ok, and I ordered the sea bass cooked in the banana leaf. I did not enjoy the fish...I gave up about halfway through. It was very bland and had no flavor at all. The meal was worth maybe $60 and it cost $100. We will not be back!

If you make it to only one restaurant in the Orange Beach area, make it this one. I'm not kidding. We had one of the best meals of our lives here and we cannot wait to return! The outdoor seating is awesome (especially with kids). The service was perfectly kind and accommodating, helpful and clear. The food though. Oh my goodness!!! You MUST try the banana-wrapped fish. It was rated one of thirty dishes to "try before you die" by Southern Living. With very good reason. We cannot stop talking about it. Perfectly cooked, lightly seasoned so that the flavor of the fish comes through. Just incredible. The sushi was fresh and delicious as well. Our kids even liked it! Everything was incredibly delicious, gourmet quality, and in the end we all fought over the creme brûlée for dessert. Every bite was epic. This place is an absolute must if you are in the area. And honestly worth the travel, even if you aren't. ;-)

The customer service here is amazing!! The staff is so hospitable and such warm smiles!! I love southern charm and warmth that holds volumes to my heart & where I decide to spend my hard earned money.

(5)Stephanie G.
(5)Amanda B.
I can't tell you about the food but I can tell you the people were very friendly and the seating was beautifully lit and comfortably laid back
(5)Brian R.
(5)paula p.
Really great atmosphere and deck area great food and waitress. Hostess were not very helpful. Menu needs new graphic designs. They are wild colors and really hard to read. The restaurant is better than that
(4)Adam F.
Probably one of my favorite places in the area. The Pecan Redfish is outstanding. Service was good, and a large alcohol menu. We timed it right and did not have a wait, but apparently it's luck of the draw. We will be back!
(5)Leonard A.
Delectable food, tasty drinks, great service, nice size servings for the price. Pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely come again! Well worth the 1hr 14min wait Wait staff very attentive and friendly.
(5)Jeremy S.
lunch is cosmos is a great deal. you get really good food and a free martini! the service is also great.
(5)Randy W.
(5)Kyler U.
(5)Henry P.
(5)Jennifer F.
(5)Rob W.
(5)Andrew K.
(4)Raven L.
Best crab cakes!! And the fried seafood was great also. Smoked bacon and roasted grits are a must!! Friendly staff and great service! We would definitely return when visiting the Gulf Shores area!
(4)Jennifer R.
(5)J G.
(5)Beth E.
(5)T R.
Awesome service! Awesome food! This has to be one of, if not the best places to eat in Orange Beach.
(5)Michael P.
Great food excellent service and friendly wait stafffried seafood platter was fried just right. No complaints this way!! Nothing is perfect but this was close to!!
(4)Brittany W.
Loved it.
(5)Mark C.
Love this place!!! We have eaten there several times and had a great experience everytime. They are also dog friendly. I definitely recommend them!!!!
(5)Jennifer S.
(4)Ashley W.
Wonderful grouper sandwich with asparagus as a side. The bun was a combination of a Hawaiian roll and sourdough which really made the sandwich. Great service, definitely recommend
(4)Gary A.
Great restaurant. We ate at the bar and had a blast. The two bartenders made the night, great recommendations for both drinks, wine and food. Exceptional food and great service.
(5)Amy H.
Firecracker shrimp. Period. Amazingly delicious and great portion size! Happy hour is a great deal too!
(5)Ryan S.

(4)Alanna W.
On vacation, we heard lots of reviews on this place. We got a drink on the patio and enjoyed walking through the cute dog boutique.... Once we were in the restaurant tho. We were not impressed. Food was okay and service was not worth the hour wait.
(3)Emily A.
Server was nice, but food was okay. Our appetizer order was forgot to be put in so we got it with our entrees. Food was way too over priced for how it tasted. Everything was just "ok".
(3)Liv W.
It was pretty good food! But it was really busy when we went and so it took a while to get the food. But other than the wait it was a great experience and more affordable than some other restaurants we went to when on vacation. Also the restaurant had a very nice out door patio setting!
(4)Corinne P.
Went for happy hour and it and as awesome as always. Great deals on drinks and food. We ordered two appetizers and couldn't finish them!
(5)Kayla W.

It was very bland and had no flavor at all. The meal was worth maybe $60 and it cost $100. We will not be back!

And honestly worth the travel, even if you aren't. ;-)
